RMT Futsal League Standings
Summary
This point system is player-centered and development-focused, while still being fair and competitive, making it ideal our Futsal League
Benefits of Point Structure
Encourages Attacking Soccer
Awarding 1 point for scoring at least one goal even in a loss motivates teams to:
- Stay aggressive the entire game
- Push forward instead of giving up
- Develop offensive creativity and finishing ability
This increases the pace and entertainment of matches.
Reduces Blowouts (GD Max of +4)
The +4 max goal differential rule:
- Prevents teams from running up the score
- Protects weaker teams from demoralizing blowouts
- Keeps standings tight and competitive
- Encourages sportsmanship
Skills—not extreme scorelines—determine the standings.
Rewards Effort and Development
Even losing teams can earn points by:
- Fighting until the last minute
- Trying to score instead of just defending
- Maintaining motivation regardless of the score
This is perfect for our youth development where growth matters as much as results.
